I installed a new transom in my boat with an OMC stringer outdrive and it
shifted about a 1/4" to the side so now the transom boot screw holes on one side does not have any wood behind them. Is there a way I can fill the void
by using something like poly resin and biaxial mat or expoxy and woodflour to
build it up on one side. The transom is pretty solid now but I need to just build it out enough at transom hole on one side so the transom boot screws have something to secure to.

Re: New transom shifted

The real issue here is not that there is a gap but that there is nothing for the boot plate screws to bite into. The best thing you can do aside from removing everything and starting over is to use a router to remove about 3/4inch's of material around the hole and glass in another piece of plywood to fill the gap. This will give the screws something solid to bite into and the transome will retain it's strength.
