I recently replaced the low pressure fuel pump on my 2002 F225. Yamaha no longer sells the pumps, but Sim Yamaha has some for $900. I investigated every aftermarket pump I could find, and not one of them had good reviews.
Carter makes quality fuel pumps in the USA, and I found one that was very close to the Yamaha pump. The ends were threaded, so Black Cat Research in Virginia made some hose adapters from stainless. https://blackcatresearch.com/
The adapters worked perfectly. The new pump is 5/8" longer than OEM, but the hoses accommodated the pump. One molded hose I replaced with a straight hose.
The bracket needed some modification, which was accomplished with a grinder and a hammer. Used a hose clamp to full secure the new pump. Cost is about $90 for the pump, and $70 for the two fittings.
2002-2006 I believe use a LP pump of about 7 psi. Later engines use a pump that puts out approximately 43 psi. Carter has the same pump in a higher pressure version.
I used: Carter P61122, plus a Standard S-697 electrical connector.
Newer engines would use a Carter P61171. 43 psi, with a max flow of 30 gph.
