This is a 1993 90 hp Force with all Mercury Marine electrics.Old rectifier went bad so I got a new one. New one has two red leads, one is 14 gauge wire, the other is 12 gauge. Connected it up and it won't charge. Substituted a Merc rectifier, and it charges.(but, of course OVER-CHARGES!) Why is there two red (+12volt) leads on the new one?! I took voltage reading with motor running, and one red lead has +12.44 volts and the other shows -24 volts! (the small red lead) This was supposed to be a direct replacement (Mallory brand) what the heck??!! Maybe new rec. is defective...........????????
