He found the numbers a few posts back 22" Turbo.
Your prop is about the right size.Perhaps slightly over but we need to be sure we have an accurate tach before making any changes.

Re: Newbi ? About wot rpm and prop sizing

Sorry on the confusion about the 10". Sitting on the trailer the motor trimed down and the prop shaft level to earth and the bottom of the boat also level to earth the prop center line is 10" from the bottom of the transom. The cavitation plate I'm assuming are what I'm calling the added on whale tail is mounted to the motor about an inch above the prop. As far as the tach, should I just change the gauge out or is the a pickup i should check? I was running about 45mph at 5400-5500 rpm by GPS.

Thanks

Re: Newbi ? About wot rpm and prop sizing

Let me clarify the last post. I was running 45ish at 5400-5500 rpm but I could keep spinning the motor faster. My BIL was with me he told me the tach was at 7000 and he didn't look at our speed. He was in charge of the GPS. I was holding the wheel and playing with the trim try to calm the porpoising. Dosent seem right that 5500 is the "redline" but the motor would spin faster. It will still run 45 at 5500 with 3 1/2 people and our gear. This just dosent seem right to me. I "thought" the right prop would keep the motor from going over 5500rpm.

Thanks again, I'm trying to learn what I can to keep from wreaking my motor. 90's aren't cheap for me
