Hi all!! I've read and read... and found lots of questions but no answers:
Question 1 - My tach sits on zero, stays on zero. It's a "new" faria tach. Vari pole (set on 20 pole/#4). Powered directly from the battery (for now), grounded to a terminal block then wired back to the battery neg, and purple "tach" wire hooked up to signal.
The power read 12.7 volts, ground appears good, and purple was pulsing some volts (don't remember what the numbers where) as read by my digi volt meter.
Any thoughts on what the issue is? Hope I didn't get took for a $$$ tach that is bad

Question 2 I don't have a gasket for the intake box (square box that bolts on the carbs). So I ran the engine without the intake box on muffs while testing my non-working tach! My question is after I killed the engine and tilted it up fuel was fast dripping out the bottom carb. It kept dripping un-noticed for awhile until a large puddle formed in the bottom of the motor housing.
Is this "leak" normal? I noticed the intake box has a plug in the bottom where a hose attaches... is that what it is for?
