My name is Dave, and I have gained much wisdom from this forum, that I decided to join. Unfortunately, I doubt that I will be able to contribute, unless you need info about how not to do something right, ha ha.
Anyway, here's my question:
I have a 1980 Johnson Seahorse, 9.9 hp outboard. I've read so much about how to convert my motor to a 15 hp by changing out the carburator, but understand (or have come to believe) that I may only have to remove a "restrictor plate", and/or change out a jet - depending on the particular year or model....?
I'm so confused....
Does anyone here know exactly, or know of a good reliable link that can clarify this? I am aware of the exhaust tube difference too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
