Newbie here - Volvo 5.0 Duo prop max RPM 3600

hello so new to this website, my boat runs perfect, runs smooth and plenty of power until i hit about 3600rpm wont go any higher, speed is around 43 - 44 mph, stock prop, last year was hitting 4300 RPM, did tune up, plugs, wires, cap router and such no change any ideas? thx Mike

Injected or carb. Could be lots of things. Compression, old fuel, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, not trimmed properly, etc. I would start by checking the fuel pressure. You can also run on an external tank to rule out bad fuel.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... I don't see the contents of the fuel filter mentioned, or a new filter,......

I think yer lookin' in the wrong dept..... Sounds like an Induction issue, fuel related, not ignition,...
