Just bought my first boat. It's a used 20ft pontoon boat with a 1977 70hp Johnson on it. It ran like a champ but noticed the prop had damage. I took the old prop off and it has no visible markings left on it. So I went to the local boat store and bought a new Solas aluminium 3 blade 13.5x 15 pitch propeller. Finally got to take it out and at wot rpms read 4100. Now from all the reading I have done on here I believe I should be aiming for 5000. So should I get a 13.5x 11 pitch? Or am I missing anything? Also it's manual "trim or tilt?".
