Newbie question: What does it mean when?

First time boat owner here.... My rig:

1978 17.5 FT Thompson tri hull

100 HP Johnson outboard

When the boat is under power (throttled) there is spray comming up the side of my outboard. Like it has something to do with prop forcing the water directly up, or that boat is treading water off center or something... Dad used to own the boat and I never remember this kind of thing happening when we would go out on fishing trips. Any ideas on what the problem would be?

Chip out of prop, or bent prop or something on the hull dragging maybe???
