newbie with lost o questions

Hi,
Ive been lurking for some time and finally found a boat. It is a Avanti 175f/s with an 85hp evinrude (boat is rated for 175 so its a bit under powered) My first question is where can I find information about this boat ie: seat layout and so on. I pulled the deck which was being held down with sheet rock screws, There are only two stringers (1x4's) doubled with 2x4 where the ski storage area was. Does this sound right? There are some cross braces that seem to be 1x6. All of which need to be replaced. Should I just put back what was in there or make it stronger with 2x4 stringers? Im sure Ill have more questions as I progress.

have you allready purchased the boat.......it needs a lot of work.....and it costs money to fix........


anyhoo......

strings are uasually 3/4 inch ply......

in the blue section on the forums main page is a whole forum on avanti.....

but post your restoration questions here.

Thanks, I really enjoy this site. Turns out the stringers are in good shape just everything above them is mush. I looked in the Avanti fourm but there was nothing in there, I will try posting there to see what I can find out. Im now trying to figure out the layout of the boat as someone has jacked it all up and I have searched endlessly for information on this boat but have found nothing. Im disabled and have all the time in the world to do this little project so here we go......
