So they got a stiffer suspension. Other manf. tests would probably be rig up to show how uncomfortable it would be under normal driving condition versus other trucks.

Hey since were talking ford- Did you know that the only way to do any engine work on the new powerstroke is to lift the cab off the truck?

I've seen pics on a ford mech's phone, big crew cab hanging from slings off the lift.

And here I complain about my work van.

Great marketing. Mike Rowe, the American working man's man. Ford F-150, the American working man's truck. What's not to like?

Chevy's "Like A Rock" campaign was a good one. Who wouldn't want a Silverado after seeing one of those commercials?

The new "Dodge Challenge" commercials just make me roll my eyes.

The Toyota and Nissan commercials are pretty entertaining if you don't take them too seriously.

I would like to know which Chevy Engine they used. If they used the 4.8L V8 I am not surprised it didn't do as well in fuel economy as the 4.6L Ford tested with. I would like to see what Chevy's 5.3L with GM's Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation would have done versus that Ford at highway speeds.......since they don't exactly tell us how fast they were going.

It's all in the details. Watch the one where the tractor trailer passes the trucks. The Ford gets a wide berth and the other almost have their mirrors knocked off.

A few feet makes a BIG difference when you pass an oncoming tractor trailer.

Stiffer suspension would only make it bounce more in the silver creek challenge, kind of like the Silverado. I've seen what kind of difference leaf springs will do just by replacing the ones on the boat trailer (same capacity, different style, smoother ride).

Well, it's no secret that these tests can be rigged to show anything they want. Do you remember the one with a 3/4 ton truck towing a bunch of rail cars? It never shows if there are anything in the rail cars or how it gets going.

I think a test track could be built so that the bumps could "favor" a given wheelbase. I'm not saying that's what happened here but... I think that even the same truck/tires/suspension would perform differently if the wheelbase was different on each truck.

The bike with square wheels (sort of) demonstrates my point.

His smooth ride is extremely dependent on wheelbase.
