nissan 2.5 outboard starter cord broke

I'm trying to put together the starter assembly and am having trouble winding up the spring. The spring is used to reset the pull cord after pulling. year of engine I'd guess 1994. <br /><br />Thanks, Mike

update, I found a manual at the boat store and found out that I was winding the spring the wrong way. So everyone rest easly I figured it out thanks.

Glad you figured it out. I was trying to come up with a way to provide some useful advice, but rewinding some of those recoil springs require 3 hands and a dozen swear words. One of my least favorite tasks!
