Nissan 8HP 4 Stroke Charging System ???

I purchased a new Nissan 8 HP 4 stroke this summer to use as a kicker/trolling motor for my boat. Engine is amazing. I am thinking of adding the necessary parts (alternator part and rectifier) to allow charging of my starting battery while I am trolling. I would like to find out what the amp output is @ the lower RPM's the motor is used at. I want to make sure if I do install the charging system I will be getting reasonable output from the alternator setup.

Does anyone have a manual that shows amp output at the various RPMs? Thanks for the help!

The 8/9.8 is rated at 6 amps. It achieves almost all that by about 2,000 RPM. In fact, it is charging a little at idle. The charging curves are in the motor brochure, at the Nissan Marine website at http://www.nissanmarine.com/tech_talk/brochure.html
