NLA Mercury outboard 25hp 2 stroke shift shaft retainer

Part # 93878 what did people do to replace when none to be found and how did they remove them? I'm in a bind here is there after market or did they redesign for replacement

Pretty sure the water pump housing holds it in. Find somebody with a 3d printer.
