Re: NMEA GPS compatable device.
If you are asking how to accomplish a serial data connection between the NMEA-0183 interfaces on your VHF Marine Band Radio and a GPS receiver, there generally are not pre-made cables for this circuit connection. The usual method of wiring this serial data connection is to use the cables provided with each device, and join the conductors using some method of connection. Typically a terminal block is used. In some cases mating connectors are used.
On most LOWRANCE devices, there are connectors on the rear panel and an accessory cable is provided with a mating connector and a short length of cable pre-wired to the connector. The other end of the cable terminates without a connector and can be wired as desired.
On many low-cost VHF Marine Band radios there is simply a cable provided from the radio with a few feet of length, terminating in some loose conductors.
In these cables you will find the serial data communication signals you need to interconnect. The exact choice of the wiring technique is left to you.
