No compression

I have a mercury xr6 150hp that has 0 compression on top left cylinder. (Port side) trying to see how big of a job it will be to fix.

All the other compressions were between 115 and 105

Clearly that cylinder needs a rebuild. So, tear motor down, bore cylinder, new oversize piston and rings, some gaskets and whoila!

Maybe $200 in parts and boring, the rest is your labor.

If I was to pay for all that to be done, what do you think a fair price would be?

I left out a few details. When pulling plugs out, every plug showed some wear besides #1 plug.

A shop would charge about $ 3000 / 4000 to rebuild that.----If you can find a shop to do that kind of work today.

What ever you or repair center do ....make sure advance module is discarded or replaced and switchboxes replaced.
