No Electricity to start, raise/Lower 120HP Evinrude

I took out my 89 120HP Evinrude on an 18' McKee Craft CC yesterday. I was trying the tilt and trim when it stopped working altogether. I shut off the motor and could not restart it due to no electrical current- like a blown fuse. It is not a battery issue. I had a fully charged back-up. Could it be a Fuse that runs both the starter and power tilt?

Look on the port side of the powerhead near the starter solenoid. There'll be a fuse in a red in-line holder. Repalce that and let's see what happens.

Sounds like you have the trim voltage supply wire connected to either the "A" (accessory) or "B" (battery) terminal of the igntion switch. That would result in having both the engine and the trim unit voltage supply being routed thru that one 20 amp main fuse located near the starter solenoid. Not a good idea.

If this is the case, it would be better to have a seperate fused wire leading from the battery to the PTT switch.

I replaced the fuse and the tilt woorked for a short while. I replaced the fuse again and again it worked for a short while. I blew every fuse without determining what was causing it.

Thanks Folks
