I cannot BELIEVE that there isnt a rear sway bar for a 2003 2 wd S 10!!!! I asked the guy, what about the sway bar for the Extreme? that should have a rear sway bar!

prolly gotta go with 4 wd to get it

grumble - Ill go aftermarket, I really dont want to lay a wrench to the truck til the warranty is dead, but I cant hurt the truck unless I clamp the brake line, lol

Even the big trucks F-350 dont come standard with
a rear sway bar. Has to have a camper pkg a
seperate option. NOT included in trailer tow pkg.

As long as you don't raise or lower the suspension, adding a sway bar will not void your warranty.

Small consolation.

Hey Ray,

That truck should not really need a sway bar on it unless you plan on overloading it!

Keep the weight below the maximum carrying capacity, and you will not have a problem.

I am a cornering freak, I love flat cornering

its got nice wide aluminum wheels and beautifully responsive steering wheel feedback, schweeeet ....

just leans a bit much is all, lol, I know Im a pain in the azz, but what can I say?

grrrrr, well, gas A just shocks were always the sway bar alternative, but Im not going to give up yet, lol, call some speeed shops in the area

I want to take liz up to the Grand Canyon of pennsylvania, sort of a break in ride - twisty mountain roads, and me with a leather wrapped wheel, woo hoooo, gotta find that bar

(I gotta have something to obsess over, keeps me sane, lol)

I agree with KenneyKenCan (How about that Kenny?), You will get better response buy adding a bigger "front" swaybar with urethane bushings and better shocks! Your factory installed shocks are inadaquate from the start! First thing i change in a new vehicle!!

LubeDude

I don't think a sway bar will do much, my dad has a "camper package" in his 2002 Dodge 2500, and his truck compaired to my hockey coachs truck (same thing w/o bar) you can't tell the difference.

Ray,

:D If want nice flat cornering, I got a freind who is selling his '85 Ferrarri 308 Quatrovalve cheap, something like $58,000, and it already has the sway bar, shocks and all the goodies to make those corners flat and fast! :D LoL :D

Dont feel badCastaway, I think they like you!!

I also think you are being Razzed!! :p :p :p

Along with my earlier post, some 17" Wheels and low profile tires will do wonders, but there goes the ride!! :D

LubeDude

LOLOLOL

so I noticed, the rat basstids!

well fellahs, I know youll laugh, but I tell ya what

my 6500 pound 76 ford van, with its helwig front and rear sway bars, Gabriel Gas shocks and Comp TA radials stayed right with a Trans Am thru an incredibly cool Poconos road, curve after curve after curve, that van cornered dead FLAT, he was starting to break his tail loose, lol, I think it drove him NUTS that giant sized van was unshakable - just a twitch of the thick rimmed, leather wrapped Formula One style wheel kept it on course, hehehe

now of course those bars were baseball bat thick, lol, but the lil guy is half the weight of that behemoth

Ill find that elusive sucker

this is terrible, I am completely obsessed by the thought of cranking that little guy around corners, which of course would take me far away from this constant study thing, I clack away retyping notes and further defining and resolving issues raised in class, then clack away on iboats *****ing about life and dreaming of life beyond school, where granted the stress is just as bad, but at least you get PAID for being stressed, lol, and you can relax a little on weekends

youll see, the truck aint bad right now, but that rear bar makes a HUGE difference, you wouldnt BELIEVE how thick the front bar on the Ford was, and yet still it leaned over, tho NOTHING like ti did stock

once the rear bar went on, nothing, flat, off ramps at double posted speed, when i switched to Continental Con Trac tires, the dry cornering fell off a little but the wet cornering was phenominal

That rear bar is still in the garage, waiting for Tow Beast II, 79 Econoline, a bolt on piece

:D :D :D :D

Uh Ray did you ever drive one of them little pickups in the snow???

My little Dakota 2 wheel drive would break loose when the road was just wet. It was not good at all in the snow but improved a lot with snow tires on it. They are just so light in the *** end. you can always add weight in the back that might help.

You might want to start thinking about snow tires and wait for the performance mods later. :p

On the bright side you will be able to sit at the light and haze one off with the best of them :D

LOL, gee tanks Flathead, ya flucker ya!

welllllllll .... I dunno if it would light em up on ice, but ya never know

my mom, of all people, said get tube sand

before I could say, its too late to take liz to the beach  she said its sand sold in a tube, 70 pounds, you put one on each side

I sure as hell aint putting cinder blocks back there!

the tanklike impala is a great snow car, and in fact is running so flawlessly I almost feel guilty for shipping her off to The Back Lot

running at 75 I gave her some gas and she surged to nearly 100 in no time, not bad for a four barrel 305 with 139k on the clock

eh, the outback doesnt slip at all in the snow

in fact (**** , hope she doesnt read this) its almost impossible to hang the tail out and do figure 8's in the parking lots

well, at least not til you get some speed up and drift the car, hehehe, the hand operated parking brake helps a LOT

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

hey Flathead -

how much wieght did it take to get the wheels to stop spinning?

I figure Ill get about 280 pounds worth, put em over the drive tire, eh, so it has to lug a few more pounds around, I dont think it will mind much, it has the increased capacity suspension

lets see, hmmmm

me plus liz plus sand = payload, lol, and shes a skinny thang - well, big ummmmmm bumpers, but thats ok!

LOL
