No Fire on #1 or #2 cylinders

I have a 77/78 85hp Mercury, over the past few years it has been dropping cylinders 1 and 2 but they have always come back and would run good for awhile. Started replacing some of the wiring due to deterioration including the trigger. Now I can't get 1 and 2 to fire at all. I have swapped the coils around to cylinders 3 and 4 and still get 3 and 4 to fire but not 1 and 2. Could it be in the switchbox? Or am I having some kind of ground problem with the coils themselves? Suggestions?

Sound like bad pack from defective grounding of ignition plate.
