Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I posted this once and have had no response. Going to try again. I have a 1981 mariner 135 Hp outboard, model A933381, that lost fire on the right side. I switched wires on the switch boxes (blue and red from one box with the blue/white and red/white from the other box) I got fire on all six cylinders. I then switched the wires back and got fire on all six cylinders. Not sure what is going on. Can someone please help. I don't want to be out on the lake and have this happen again. Thanks in advance.

Your post is working but your situation is difficult to respond to.

You had a problem and you messed with the electrics and it went away. It's hard to say if you had an open circuit and when you moved wires around it fixed it or if you have a component ready to fail the next time you go out.

You can probably get a better response if one of the mods moves your post to the Merc/Mariner page. If one of them doesn't jump in here send a PM and ask them to move this for you.

Ok. I cleaned all connections and had good fire on all cylinders. I took the boat out again this past weekend and again lost fire on the right bank. I brought it home and switched packs like before and this time the problem followed. No fire on left bank. I purchased and replaced both power packs like had been suggested before. I still have no power on the right bank. Please help... Thanks

nothin' on all three on same side is usually stator but not always... sometimes trigger.. your case with changin' stator leads and problem followed indicates stator...
