I have a 1970 40hp Johnson that is not getting any fire. The motor tries to turn over but just wont kick. I just swapped it onto this boat from another and I think I might have mis wired the switch. Can anyone tell me what the following wires run? I have in-laws visiting and they want to go fish. I have ordered a Seloc manual for the motor, but it won't be here until late next week. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: No fire, possible bad wiring

I am reading this from the back of a package that a switch came in.

purple w/white primer

yellow w/red start circut

black w/yellow stop circut

purple (switched B+)

black ground

red w/purple (non switched B+)

I hope this helps.
