no fire

i have a 1969merc 500 50hp that i took out several times and it ran fine and i parked it for two weeks and now it wont start have no fire checked for loose wires found one on starter cylinoid tighted it no manuel please help

I suspect something simple like the key, since it happened so quick. However some more info on what it does do, ie does it turn over, how fast, did you check for spark, etc etc.

thanks i will check the key. it turns over fine .after trying to start about four times and smelling gas from flooding it. took one wire off and checking for fire also took all plugs out and inspected them.

hey this is the first day with no rain and boat has fire started fine must of been wet ignition thanks for info may need it later
