I have 91' 60hp merc 3 cyl w\2 carbs. #1 cyl. is dry as a bone. First compression test on that cylinder, I got 110. The other 2 I got 125. Sprayed wd40 in each, than tested and got 145 out of all of them. Pulled the carbs, cleaned and expected and measured the float. Everything looked good. Interesting note, first time I pulled carbs and checked bowls, they both had gas in them, second time there was no gas in top carbs' bowl. I've only taken this boat out once this year. It ran great, was at full throttle.....the first ten minutes, than rapidly lossed rpms. Never got out of hole after that. I also replaced the fuel line back to gas tank. Could this be a bad reed in #1 ? Fuel pump ?

Re: No Fuel in Top Cylinder

Sounds like a sticking float needle in the one carb. Get a rebuild kit for both and try it again. The bowl should have fuel in it unless the needle is sticking shut preventing it from filling. Kit will come will new needle. If you feel it's the fuel pump, try pumping the bulb when it loses power and see if that helps. It may just free up a sticking needle valve temporarily, too.
