No gas filter on 1985 115 merc ?

Im looking at replacing the gas filter on my merc 115 but cant seem to find one ? Did they have them on this type of engine ?

Dealer couldnt find the filter on his micro fiche Its an option

No filter. You have a screen in the fuel pump. JR

Can i just clean it without replacing any gaskets ?

My '86 didn't have one. I added an inline filter about 4" from the outlet side of the primer bulb. Easy to see and easy to replace.

Maybe, I don't have as late a model as you have mine have o rings and the inlet is easy to remove inspect the screen and replace. JR
