I have new 90 merc. that has maybe 3hrs on it. have been in the break in process but last time out it loads up as i give it throttle and is not even half as responsive as it was the first couple hours. plugs were oily so i changed them and it still is the same. Also takes 20 min. to put gas in it as if it is restricted. checked for kinks in fuel lines and found none, Is there a vent valve on this that is sticking and causing vapor lock.

Re: no gas

Is this a 2 stroker, or 4 stroke engine? If you have oil injection, and you are also adding oil to gas for breakin period, it would be "normal" to have somewhat oily plugs, till you go to just injected oil. Not applicable if this is a 4-stroke engine.

Also assuming you have a built-in gas tank in your boat, again- year and model unknown. ??
Built in tanks have an always open vent. Could be its clogged, or was covered for some reason.
Is this a new boat also?

In any event, I would take it back to the dealer and ask him about the gas filling problem, and your engine concerns.

Re: no gas

found problem, the vent hose has a elbow fitting that goes to tank and it was never drilled out from factory
