No Hull id What to do?

I bought a 1976 Sleek Craft Rebel. I can't find a H.I.N.number anywhere. And I don't have the Title. Lost I guess. I looked where the H.I.N. number is supposed to be but it is blank.What should I do now? Any suggestions?

Well, LWI, first, write down what you have learned about buying a boat.<br /><br />Go to your state agency that registers/titles boats and ask about getting a salvage or homebuilt title.<br /><br />No luck? Try to return it to the seller for refund or part it out.<br /><br />Good luck.

How about back tracing it. Look on your boat where the registration mumber is (or used to be) there will be numbers or unfaded spots where the numbers were along the bow... something like <br />OH 1234 BC Take those numbers to the Boat registration authorities in your state and they can give you the HIN that was registered to the boat. If the boat is older than 1972 it may not have a HIN. They weren't required before then.
