I just finished working on a 1960 boat and when i went to register it they needed a hull id# and there is no tag on the boat what other options do i have if any
spoonman,<br /><br />I can't tell you where it might be on your boat, but try this site, it just might help.<br /> http://www.uscgboating.org/reg/reg_bsc70.asp <br /><br />Trp251
Don't know the rules in PA, but in NY, our DMV where boats get registered has a registration category for "homemade" hulls, or trailers for that matter, that is used to cure all kinds of situations like this one, or where proper paperwork is not available. Presumably you would then add your own ID for USCG purposes. Good luck.
spoonman,<br /><br />What deedubya stated above is also the case in Oklahoma. If you can't locate the hin, you may have to request a hin inspection from the dmv in your state. I have had to do the same thing here in Oklahoma on my boat. It is a 14' starcraft seaferer aluminum boat. The metal tag is so beat up on the transom I can't read the hin and the title was lost by the preveous owner. Here it's not too big a hasle, but it's not as easy as if i had obtained the title.<br /><br />Trp251
