Hey Guys and Gals just wondering if you can help me. This is the second time i've taken out my boat.

1. Launched my boat it starts fine then go to take off and it just bogs give it more gas it still bogs. So i shut it down restarted it and takes off again and no problem. Could it be bad plugs?.

2. I went to start my boat and i get absolutely so response from the engine what so ever even the choke doesn't response. Then after about 5 mins it starts instantly. My key doubles as a choke button when i push it in. Should i start to check for connection problems at the Key switch?

3. I am currently running on mix gas (disconnected the VRO) i notice my motor shakes a bit more then usual around the 2000RPM but around 2600+ it's fine. Is that normal? i also notice that i have unburnt fuel coming from the exhaust ports (Brownish liquid) when i load the boat on the trailer. Should i check my plugs for proper spark color?

Please help out a fellow boater thanks for reading and your help Henry

Not the big motor guru like TD is but I will take a shot.

First of all post your model number and horsepower so we know what we are dealing with, should be on the starboard(right)side on the motor mount.

Can't be the plugs, they are good or bad, they don't go in between, your ignition will however and with unburned gas and a new vibration I would suspect you are losing spark.

I always start with the free stuff so run through all the wires and connections and make sure they are clean.

Confirm spark, spark plug tester at any auto parts store, and get a compression gauge while you are there and check that too, always good to know.

And get into the iboats store and get an OMC manual(not Seloc, Clymers or anything on CD) it will go over how to trouble shoot your problem in great detail so you can fix or only buy the parts you need.
