I tried to locate the year of my motor from the site that you fine chaps provided, but I cant seem to find any diffinative hits. If had to take a completely un-educated guess I would say it "looks" like something made in the late seventies to early eighties. And I hope I'm right cause I've been running 50:1 Smoked too much at 40. Anyway I would like to know so I can get a manual for it. <br /><br />Ser # is J4085903

Rooky - that serial number seems to fall into the 1974 serial group. For example, an 85hp SN J4085777, which is very close to yours, was built in '74. It could be a '75 though. 50:1 is definitly the right mix anyway.<br /><br />Go to The Old OMC Site and try to determine the year exactly by their catalogs. The site is down at the moment but I'm sure it will be back soon.
