No markings on prop

Hi all,

I'm new to the forums. I've done a lot of reading and learned quite a bit.

I just bought a 1988 Bass Tracker Tournament V17 with a 1988 45hp Mariner (4 cylinder inline). The boat came with no manuals. I haven't had much luck finding any info on this engine. I think (from reading online) it is supposed to run at 5500rpm at WOT. But have heard as low as 5250rpm. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know.
I have had the boat out twice and found that it revs to 5600rpm at WOT with the boat loaded and two people aboard. I believe this is a little high. But won't know for sure until I get the correct info. I will be ordering the proper manuals soon.
Now for the original question. I have looked everywhere I can on this prop and can't find any markings. I believe it is the original aluminum prop. Is there any way to find out what prop I have?

Any help would be appreciated.

Take the prop nut off and look at the hub -- the part number may be hidden behind the washer. Sometimes the number is stamped in the barrel of the prop and aren't very deep so when the prop is painted you can hardly see them. Look carefully again. If you find a part number, you will need to post that number so we can look up the diameter and pitch for you. If you find no numbers at all, you need to have a prop shop put it on a pitch block. You can measure the diameter. Blade tip to shaft center x2 = diameter. Chances are the manuals won't tell you what the prop is either because there is no such thing as a "standard" prop. What works well on one boat doesn't work worth a hoot on another so that's why new engines don't even come with a prop.

Silvertip: I am having the same issue as "Holeshot". I took your advice and found the following on my prop....MICHIGAN #031024...can you help?? Oh, this is for a Alpha one

Michigan Match Aluminum 3 Blade 14.5" dia x 17" pitch standard rotation

Got the prop off.
This is what I found on the hub: Michigan PM614CUP

Can anyone tell me what I have?
