I took my silverado in for warrenty work and was not a new S-10 in sight. 2004 is the last year and very limited production. The only ones you can order are the crew cabs and I was told production would stop by the end of this year to make room for the new inline 5 cyl. mid size colorado.shipping of the new trucks has started so keep your eyes open, they look just like a small silverado.

He almost had me talked in to buying one.But the dealer said if I loved my '92 s-10 I would want to marry one of these Colorado's.

Re: no more S-10's

the colorado is ugly, but the five cyl has me intrigued - audi bombed with its five, however, chevy (and GM) loves the in line engine

those 270 horse trailblazers are - are ya ready?

a straight six!

nah toad, mines a 2003, but since its a four, they dealed and dealed on it, im happy

that colorado is really a nod to mopar, the dakota is a good compromise of smaller truck and increased capacity, Im sure the colorado is a far BETTER truck than the S-10 in concept, but the S-10 has had a pretty long run in its present form, all of the bugs are gone. The Colorado, however, being new will likely need a shaking out process. Seems to me GM is going in the Cadillac direction, with its love it or leave it styling

Liz LOVES the Avalanche, I think it looks like a tarted up roadgoing juke box on steroids (however, once inside that jukebox, with its musclebound V8 and four wheel drive system, oh YEAH, Id love DRIVING the dammmed thing, I just wouldnt POINT to it, oh yeah, thats MY baby over there, the refugee from a JC Whitney Catalog!

I would go up to a Silverado or Sierra in a few years tho, once they get the Colorado sorted out, that would be a possibility as well

they gotta make that front end more attractive tho, looks like the face of a japanese robot! Ford has the Eddie Bauer edition, chebby is gonna have the Transor-Z edition !

:p

The Volvo 850 and Acura Vigor are in line 5's and are bullet proof. Maybe they're onto something... ;)

Re: no more S-10's

I'm not crazy about the slant eyed look of the colorado myself, or the new silverados. I still owe 4 years on my 2002 silverado so hopfully I won't be buying a new truck for 10 years or so.

Re: no more S-10's

no kiddin, hmmmm, isnt volvo owned by ford? I wonder why ford doesnt have one out - I was shocked by the straight six in the trailblazer, guess they were giving some components a chance to hit the assembly line

curiously, the five will be the top engine, with a 165 horse (?) four as standard (possibly 180, between the studies and the headache Im not thinking too clearly

yeah exactly that one more, I mean, yes, the retro look is in, and the fifties GMC trucks had an angry, scowling look to them, much like these new slanty eyed jobbers do - ah, honorable corolado! ah so!

:D
