no popet valve on my 150 intruder

I have two thermomstats but can't find any poppet valve on my 150 60 degree 1995 intruder. Am I missing something? Thanks

Does it have a spring holding the thermostat down? On that kind of setup, the thermostat is the pressure control poppet. Water pressure pushes it off the seat.
