NO power after starter replacement

Hello,

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me diagnose this strange issue in my 2005 Bayliner. The starter on my 3.0L '05 Mercruiser went out, so I replaced it as I have done several times. Installation went fine, I've done it several times so it was nothing new. However, when I tried to start the engine - absolutely nothing. Gauges are dead, blower wont work, bilge wont work... absolutely nothing. Here are all the things I checked:
  • Battery is fully charged
  • Starter itself works (bypassed the starter solenoid, starter turns over)
  • NO Voltage from ground to either the starter control wire or the starter power supply
  • Every fuse (inline and block) I could find
  • Big red breaker on top of the engine
  • No loose/disconnected wires to speak of

I don't know what else to check. I'm assuming it has to be somewhere between the battery and where power splits off to go to engine/blower/bilge. The only place I haven't probed for voltage is in the large conduit behind the engine... which would be very messy.

Thanks in advance! I'd ideally be using my boat on my birthday... but there's always the weekend!

Clean all your connections (clean enough to eat off of).

Make sure that you have it wired correctly, including the pilot relay to starter connections

Agreed. Sounds like there is an issue with the power cables. Perhaps one was damaged in the process of installing the starter. Good luck and Happy Birthday.
