I've got a 2007 Triton 188-SF Fish/Ski with a MinnKota Trolling Motor, and 2 Lowrance 5-inch fishfinders (one at console and one on bow). My problem all started when I decided to install a 3-bank charger. That installation went relatively well, with each of the batteries (one crank, and 2 deep cycles) charging well.
When I went to turn on my electronics, however, things have seemed to have gone awry. My fishfinders no longer power on - they flash like they are going to come on, but don't power on, nor do my livewell, bilge pump, etc work. I tested voltage going from the battery to the bus just before the breaker panel, and it shows 12.8 volts - UNLESS I toggle the Power switch at the console to "on" then it drops to just a few volts. The horn won't even work when the Power switch is on, but it does when the switch is off.
Luckily the engine cranks just fine.
I'm thinking that I have a loose connection somewhere - probably when pulling wires to the deep cycle batteries, but haven't been able to find it. Could something else be the culprit? Any advise is appreciated. I'm a novice when it comes to the electrical stuff, though I can use a multi-meter.
Thanks,
Rod
