oh itss a 1986 volvo penta omc 350 v8 275

Time to post some pictures, in 1986 there was no such thing as a Volvo Penta / OMC. You may have an OMC stringer drive, or an OMC Cobra drive, or a Volvo drive. All would have different probems, but someone may have put in a Volvo motor. They All used Chevy 350 engines.

The Volvo drives have a cone clutch that can slip. Have you checked to see if the gear oil is milky? (aka water in the oil)
