No power to trolling motor

I just had the trolling motor re-done and mounted back on my boat. I have power from the battery to the outlet (wires behind outlet and inside outlet) on the bow and I have power (when I plug it in to the outlet) from the trolling motor to the outlet. However, when I turn it on, I get nothing. I am stumped. Any help please? Thanks!

What do you mean by having your trolling motor "re-done". If you have power at the outlet, the motor is the problem.

Re: No power to trolling motor

It is a Minnkota 74 lb thrust. When I bought it, the head was busted and cracked. I had a Minnkota dealer replace the head and go through it top to bottom. They said it ran great. The only thing I can think is left is the switch on the footpad since there is power coming out of the footpad to the outlet. Can these switches go bad? Thanks!

It's a 24 volt motor. Do you have 24 volts at the plug?

There are 24 volts coming out of the batteries and there is power to the plug in for the trolling motor. Given that, is there anyway there is not 24 volts at the plug in? Thanks!

Certainly! One or both of the wires inside the plug could have finally flexed enough that one or both are broken. Either of the two wires anywhere between the plug and the motor may have been pinched, cut or broken even though you don't see damaged insulation. Stick a pin into the cable at various points along it's length and measure the voltage. If you don't see it, you have found the problem.
