No Power when in Gear

I have a Evinrude 1976, 55 hp. It starts and idles ok. but when I put it in gear and try to excelerate I have no power and it wants to bog out or dies. I checked the plugs and they are new and clean. I beleive that my problem may be either my fuel filter or pump may be clogged. It is failing to supply gas when trying to excelerate.<br />Am I looking at the right problem or could it be something I am overlooking.<br /><br />P.S. It was running fine and problem just happened. Son put old fuel in gas tank.

git a fersh tank of gass . drain bowls on carbs. the plugs at the bottom of carb boles will drain them .i have ran a small wire the size of a spinner bate it will go into the high speed jet pump bulb to wash out any old gass and debree. i have don this several times on the water.this should work . or take thim off for a good cleaning<br />..........papasage

Thanks Papasage for the advise I will try this out. You and others how reply to people in need of advise are very kind. I will hopefully be back running and enjoying my boat once again.
