no power

I have a 33 johnson I just bought. was running sluggish so I changed the spark plugs, got new plastic gas tank, fitting, hoses, etc. Now I am getting very little power at all, seems to be in low idle when throddle is in full. All linkages seem to be working. Any suggestions for a remedy to this problem???<br />Thanks

If the engine has been setting long, you might want to pull the carb and give it a good soak and rebuilding. Take some premix in a spray bottle and shoot some into the carb throat when you got it at WOT....if it picks up....go for the carb.
