I have a Volvo Penta I/O & Inboard and am new to boats it runs good at home with the water hose hooked up, but took it to lake to try it out and it runs good in-till you put it in gear and give it gas and then it bogs down and you can hear some backfiring and will only go 7 mph any ideas

Thanks Friend, well I did that and changed fuel before I took it to the lake, it runs and revs up good at home in gear or out of gear but when you have it in the water it bogs down

Ayuh,... Was there any crud in the filters,..?? it mighta made it into the carb,....

fuel usage is the highest under full load,... on the wagon at home means nothin'...

It has a glass bowl and it had some rust or trash in it I cleaned it out.
