Hey fellow boat owners, (we should all have our heads examed)!

Just bought this boat in March and got it to the lake for a shag out run and it had no reverse! Forward was fine but when shifting into reverse it just make's that racheting sound that I've heard most boats I've been on do.

The preveuse owner made me aware of this so I was expecting a problem but also said it would only occasionaly have a hard time going into reverse and the thought there was an adjustment screw on the drive the should fix the problem??

It did go into reverse the very first time I tried but then the motor died (did'nt let it warm up long enough) and after that nothing!

Thanks for any help you might have for me.

Michael

P.S. Sorry for the poor spelling.....

There is no 'adjustment screw on the drive. There is either something wrong internally or your shift converter box is not adjusted correctly. To check that, you are pretty much going to need a manual to set it up.

Thank"s for your response boomyal, I kinda figured there was no type of adjustment screw when I bought the boat! I have been raised on boats my whole life, My dad was the Commador of the clover Island yaught club in tri-cities, Wa for ten years and I new what I was hearing was bull, but I thougt I would ask! I dont have a manual and I would'nt even Know where to start looking for the shift converter box?

Any help you could send my way would be great and I will start looking for the manual!
