Pretty new here and to boat ownership. Anyway we have a 1996 Wellcraft Eclipse 1950.
All was well till last week, went tubing and on the way back to the dock noticed I couldn't get to netural or reverse.
I have read all over the net and here about this and assume it's cable related as I have been able to put the boat into netural manually via the linkage. My question really has more to do with the control arm. How do I remove it?
I assumed I have an OMC side mount (concealed) control. When I look for the set screw I do not see one, either in the netural position or the reverse position. How do I determine what control I have so as to see about the cable issue?
Thanks. I figure I need to remove the controller regardless. On a side note I did find a broken piece of plactic that looks like it could be one of the OMC parts that holds the actuall cable...thanks for your help.
