Yea JB...I see your point,

Yes, the person was breaking the law, but come on... The cop should have let it slide (like most would have)
I have a few cop friends. They would not have cited the guy, but instead gave a warning.

It's just one more way to get our money.
The state capital is PO'ed because we voted down all sorts of tax hikes, and they are falling on their arses and realizing they actually need to spend the money they get WISELY and stay within budget.

They will no doubt try to get revenue any way they can. They've already started.
You see garbage like that ticket on a country road, to speed vans EVERYWHERE...to red light cameras. Tax hikes without a vote. What's next?

I think I've beat this topic up enough...

I'll keep you posted on the outcome of the hunter's appeal. It should get real interesting.

H.

Homerr I hope you weren't referring to my coment about crapping in the woods I've crapped in the woods alot. But I don't need no friggin baggie. As for your problems in Oregon I feel for you. Last time I was in Oregon(while ago) I lost count of the "Welcome to Oregon, now go home" bumper stickers

Boomyal:

LOL! Nice one.

Sad, but true.

:D

I'm looking REAL HARD at Alaska. Things are changing there too, but at least it would be a while before it ends up like California or Oregon.

H.

I can! Why wouldn't I? As a matter a fact often times in the Sierra Mtn range. Stones throw from Squaw Valley.I Trout fish up there sometimes for a week at a time. Nearest head is a days hike.

FOFLMAO at Uncle Bugger's Bumper Dumper. :D
I might just make one of those as a gag, so easy to screw a toilet seat to a receiver hitch, I got several receiver's laying around. Just as long as it doesn't stick out more than 3 feet past my tail lights or that is a violation. I may get a ticket. :D The cop would be Laughing his azz off also. Of course I would have no intention of using it, just a gag to drive around with. Kind of like those little outboard motors and props they stick in the receiver's these days.

Also guys from Oregon, as a Cop, I agree, laws are made for a reason, some discression and a little common sense should be used when enforcing them. With him driving on a dirt road at 10 MPH, with no seat belt, with him being an Adult, hunting. I probably wouldn't have even stopped him. At 10 mph on a dirt road, or Alley way, wouldn't have mine on either.

GodsBeast

Plywoody, different areas, or locations, have many different types of hunting. This guy said Dirt road, remember. I was once invited to on a Hunting trip in Texas, where they had a seat mounted on the hood of a pickup! Like the one John Wayne used in the Movie Hitari. This was open brush country. Some places have big heated Deer Stands, with Sliding glass windows and heater, and deer feeders, blah, blah, blah. Some of the Richy hunters, get guides that carry their gun for them, all the hunter does is go along, point the gun and pull the trigger. Just depends on how many bucks you want to spend, etc.

Not my idea of hunting, but I quit hunting years ago. You almost have to have as much money to go hunting, as you do to keep a boat running! :D

Here in La. you have Swampy, and wooded areas, and you can't discharge a firearm within certain distances of a PUBLIC PAVED ROADWAY! But remember this guy said DIRT ROAD. I remember my dad hunting a pipeline parking his 6 wheel dune buggy, and walking 180 yards and getting in a stand. When he shot his deer that morning, the deer was 10 feet from the dune buggy he parked! In fact Uncle Wayne even laughed at him and asked him why he didn't wait till he jumped in the buggy to shoot him, then we wouldn't have had to load him.

Anyway this Dirt road, may have been in the middle of nowhere, the guy said he had pulled over and was stopped, watching a dust clowd appear. Then a cop, which was making the dust clowd stopped and gave him a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. Sorry, but the picture I'm seeing when I read this story, does seem like we are talking about a new Rookie, trying to hard to do a good job, or a Cop, that was having some pressure on him to be more productive, and could have used a little better judgement and let this one slide. And of course, there is always the case that either one of them, the cop or the guy that got the ticket, was simply an azzhole!

Tylerin, I guess the lid, is just for visual effect.

Now, if you not going to actually use the thing, and was sporting it around for kicks, like I was talking about, #1 I'd want it for visual effect, and #2, It would be a great surface area to sit your water cooler on! Or a roll of toilet paper set on it, when you park your truck! It's got to be good for a laugh ;) :D

Texicans are mostly conservative, but not stupid. Conservatism advocates strict enforcement of laws.

That jerk was probably road hunting and the fuzz knew, but didn't have hard evidence prove it. He was probably also a smart alec, which is usually good for any ticket that can be issued legally.

Transplant? Ha! My great grandpappy was Gen'l Sam's protege, and brother in law of Capt. John Allen, who founded the city of Houston. I was born in the old south, but came home when I came to Texas.

Your post, Boomyal, is insulting and not worthy of a Texican gentleman.
