Hello all. I recently acquired a boat and haven't had time to hook it up and drive it into the shop. So im wondering if there are any Volvo Penta I/O aficionados, or smarter than me, that can ID this outdrive!?!? Im thinking a 290 upper and a 275 lower? there is no ID tag and its not the original outdrive for the boat. its being pushed by a GM350 (i believe!!! i havent gotten the id off of the motor yet). Any help would be appreciated!!! (dont you just love the painted prop! lol)

Yes, it looks like 270 mated to a 290. It may have originally been a Duo Prop model lower. Try to post more pictures of the engine also along with the inside of the transom area.

Thanks for the Info gentlemen! It seems to be working fine as of now. I took it for a little putt in some fresh water. Carb needs to be freshened up a little. Came home and ran a gallon of seafoam and fuel through it. I will check exactly what motor is in it after i run the numbers tonight. Its on a '78 Silverline 22ft and had it up to 35mph, so not too bad in my book!
