no serial #

hi , what i need to know is,is there any way to find out the year of my 7.5 hp mercury outboard. the serial number is worn off .Are ther any numbers on the block that i can use thanks to all

a 7.5 should have the number stamped in the top of the block near the exhaust cover

hi the only # i can see on the block is-837-2756,Can any one tell me the year?thanks in advance

NO, that is the block Number and was used more than one year the serial is stamped in not cast if you can't find one let me have info on the ign. system, type or part no. band colors on the cowl and maybe we can comme close

Hey rusty had a 7/5 come in today the serial no. was on the starboard side,there is a flat spot cast the side of no. 2 cyl and it was stamped on it good luck ---bob

thanks bob,band colors are blue and it has points .there is # in the magneto /sator 3364516.I need the s/n to replace the keyway for the fly wheel the local shop says without s/n they could not help.i will look at the #2 cyl.thanks rusty

Is a 73 with a blue band they used that stator in 72 and 73 only but the 72 was red the key I think is common to all 7.5 mercurys your dealer needs a parts man---bob
