no spark 1972 merc thunderbolt 288 6778

i just replaced the switchbox, checked the coil and i am still getting no spark i found out the rectifier is all messed up the seal has been broken and it is corroded will that cause no spark????

You really need to reply to your old thread, so members can see what you've done so far to troubleshoot.

Rectifier should not cause no-spark condition, but will cause no-charge condition.

Are you jumping the starter solenoid to test for spark, or using the controls at the helm? Make sure your ignition is on.

yeah i should have replied to the old one thats a no brainer lol my bad, no i am testing it from the helm the results from the testing the coil i know i am supposed to get 0.75 - 0.81 ohms from the coil but i am reading 6 max is that enough deveation to get no spark from any plug???
