Rookie engine troubleshooter. I know its a pretty old forum, but recently bought a 2003 Glastron with a 4.3 Volvo Penta GLA. Boat looks lightly used, interior looks superior. Started on routine maintenance. Used the wiring diagram above (assuming arrow is the front of the boat. Replaced the distributor cap and spark plug wires, went from working to won't start. No spark at the plugs. Found that I had dislodged the cable between the distributor base and the coil while feeding my new spark plug wires. Found this diagram elsewhere on these forums. Reconnected those but no help. At the same time I'm looking for a replacement rotor https://www.volvopentashop.com/epc/...asolineEngines/7744270/7744270_28/7744270_042. Can't find anywhere but these Volvo sites and shipping is minimum 10 days, etc. any ideas where I can get one sooner? Maybe buying an '03 (even though in great shape) was a bit of a mistake based on parts availability? Could a coil go bad because those wires were not hooked up?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... I don't do much with Volvo's, but I believe you have the Delco Voyager distributor, which is state of the art ignition,....

I am working on a very similar issue w/ my 5.0gxi-g. Had performance issues while underway, checked the plugs, they were really bad, so I changed them out. Now it cranks but won't start. I have found that I have no voltage going to any of the pins on the plugs to the ignition coil. You may want to check that. If I find my culprit, I will post here to let you know. Still trying to locate some detailed electrical drawings for my engine.
