Which electronic ignition conversion kit you use ?
Make sure you have right coil for that conversion ,those modules will not work with wrong coil.

Re: No spark from coil

You should have battery voltage when ON ,also monitor voltage drop when cranking.
To maintain stable voltage you need to feed your ignition (ON) directly from battery ,using heavier gouge wire.
Avoid feeding coil from starter motor.

Are we to assume you've already ensured the kill switch (or wiring) is not the culprit?

Go to the Pertronics web site: Pertronix Performance Products

Then go to the "instructions" tab and pull up the instruction sheet for your kit. Follow the instructions and read the FAQ sheet. There is also a troubleshooting section. If you have left the key on without the engine running or if you have reversed polarity on the unit, it'll short out. You should be able to find out how to test it from the troubleshooting section.

And by the way, if you did short it out, you won't be the first one :embarassed:.

That's likely what happened to me. Do you know if an EST distributor is subject to the same problem?
