hey guys, I was wonderin if anyone had any ideas for me. I have a '79 Inline 6 140 horse with no spark. i took it ot the local mercury mechanic and he told me there was a switch box that was bad. At that time only three of the 6 cylinders had spark. after replacing the switch box there is now no spark on any cylinder and the guy said that the readings on the stator are all wrong. I checked it out myself and found the resistances all wrong also. So i put a new stator in myself, but still no spark. If anyone has some advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Jim

Have you disconnected the blk/yel wire from both boxes, have you disconnected the 2 yel wire from the rectifier, have you disconnected the bias wire between the switch boxs( a bad bias in one box can destroy a new box with the exception of CDI boxes)

where does the blk/yel wire come from, the trigger or stator? why would disconnecting the rectifier do anything? and is the bias wire the blk/white wire that goes between the two switch boxes?
