I have a 91 model Mariner 60 that was running fine until all of a sudden started surging at low rpm but would run fine at high rpm. Soon after would not start at all. Has no spark on any cylinders. I bought a service manual for this engine and followed the procedure for testing the stator which read low. Replaced stator with new red stator and still no spark at all.
Now I'm thinking it could be the switch box. Just wanted to get some advice before spending more money.
Everything else checks out good. Compression at 120 on all cylinders.
