No spark on a 73 Mercury

I have a 1973 Mercury 85hp outboard<br />it has really been giving me fits it sparks whenever it feels like it but it is driving me nuts. I have replace the swithcbox with one i know to be good and it worked great the three times i took it out now it is dead again.<br />I have done a lot of work on the internal wiring replacing and recoating have tried disconnecting the kill switch and everything else i can think of. I need help bad<br />It has a 7 pin switchbox 3wires on the passenger side and 4 on the driver side i appear to have voltage at every terminal i am supposed to but no spark \PLEASE HELP I AM STUMPED

1974 Mercury 85 HP, Replaced wires with broken coating. Went to start motor and not getting any spark from coil to distributor. Motor has not been started in 5 years. NEED HELP!!

Do you have a manual???<br />Check to see in the plug that plugs into the motor whether or not you have continuity between the salmon colored wire and the black wire.<br /><br />I found out that that was my problem and replaced the ignition switch and it fixed it. <br />The salmon colored wire is the kill circuit. It should be completely dead when the motor is cranking and when it is running. Also check the mercury tilt switch located above the switchbox on the passenger side of the motor.
